Albert Traxler informs about Biturox as a solution of IMO regulations

As the implementation of the IMO 2020 regulation becomes acute, residue processing is an important issue for refineries. That is why the Pörner Biturox® specialists, Wolfgang Heger (Sales Manager), Albert Traxler (Sales CIS) and Vincent Frate (International Sales), are in demand at conferences. In the last four month they hold speaches at five international Downstream congresses in the Emirates, USA, Russia, France and Kazakhstan. The topic: Biturox® technology as a solution for the IMO 2020 regulations.

You can see our experts next time at the AMEA bitumen conference on 6-7 February in Dubai, UAE and at ARTC 2019 on 25-27 March in Bangkok, Thailand. Further lectures for 2019 are planned.

IMO 2020 - new regulation for bunker oils

The International Maritime Organization (IMO) reduces the global limit for sulfur in bunker oils from the current 3.5% to 0.5%. Thus, refineries can no longer sell their unrefined residues as bunker oil or marine fuel. Thus, the production of quality bitumen for specialized refineries becomes attractive: The investment in a Biturox® plant has the lowest CAPEX for the economic utilization of heavy residues.

"Pörner Biturox® technology, with its high yield and low investment cost, is an ideal solution to meet the expected IMO regulations. With Biturox®, our customers produce the best bitumen qualities from a variety of crude oils while economically utilizing the bottoms from the distillation," says Andreas Pörner, Managing Driector of Pörner Group.
