LHyVE project presented to Innovation Advisory Board of Saxony

Prime Minister of Saxony, Michael Kretschmer, with Dr. Rüdiger Schwarz (EDL) at the accompanying exhibition "Praxisschau Wasserstoff"

In mid-July 2021, the Innovation Advisory Board of Saxony (Innovationsbeirat Sachsen) came together for a two-day meeting at Lake Berzdorf in Upper Lusatia to discuss the potential of the hydrogen economy in Saxony. The Innovation Advisory Board of Saxony is a high-level expert body that advises the Saxon state government on technology issues.

During the event, EDL and Leipziger Gruppe had the opportunity to present their hydrogen-related activities within the LHyVE project to the participants at the accompanying exhibition ‚Praxisschau Wasserstoff‘. A key component of LHyVE is EDL’s HyKero plant for the production of PtL kerosene (eSAF). The interest in innovative solutions offered by Saxon companies was great and the feedback was positive in view of the importance of the individual projects, which can significantly contribute to the structural development of the Central German coal district.

’Praxisschau Wasserstoff‘ and the discussions with the Advisory Board have impressively shown that the Free State of Saxony has the best prerequisites to develop into a leading European hub for hydrogen applications in the field of energy, mobility, buildings / heating and industry“, said Prime Minister Michael Kretschmer after the meeting.

The Innovation Advisory Board presented a recommendation report entitled ‚MISSION SACHSEN 2038‘ to the Saxon state government. This report includes ten future missions for structural development in Saxony. These are intended to ‚define new value-creating and productive growth paths and unleash further innovative forces in the Free State’.
