Your passionate, technology-driven plant engineering partner

Pörner Technologies

For over 50 years, our mission has been to realize process plants with precision. The basis for this is our strong process engineering team with over 50 dedicated process engineers.

For the benefit of our customers:

  • We support professionally right from concept development, technology procurement, and technology selection
  • We provide our own special technologies and new processes
  • We develop new innovative technologies together with partners
  • We implement special technologies/new developments in large-scale plants
  • We construct plants based on
    • provided basic engineering
    • processes from licensors (process design package)

Our Technology Focus

The companies of the Pörner Group are continuously researching and developing new processes and solutions, both independently and in collaboration with industrial and research partners,  focusing on sustainable technologies:

Pilot Plants

Our Own Research & Development

The Pörner Group operates five in-house pilot plants to verify our processes and as a basis for designing specific industrial plants.

For over 35 years, we have been continuously developing the Pörner Biturox® technology to produce high-quality bitumen. Today, with over 60 licenses granted, we are the global market leader in bitumen oxidation.

Sustainability

Circular Economy

The future needs solutions that protect our resources, preserve the environment and pave the way for a future based on renewable energy. That is where we come in.

In light of climate change, we are focusing significantly on the urgent need for sustainable processes and holistic technical solutions for the energy transition. Process plant engineering plays a key role in this, turning new ideas and concepts into functional, efficient, and economically viable plants while at the same time significant energy savings, resource and emission reductions .

Pörner, a long-time pioneer in innovations and technologies, actively supports you in tackling the challenge of decarbonization, focusing on:

  1. Use of alternative energy carriers (PtX, BtX, bio-energy)
  2. Resource efficiency and energy-optimized production (Anlagenbau 4.0 - Plant Engineering 4.0)
  3. Production of valuable, recyclable products (e.g. bio-silicates)

Phosphorus recycling

Sewage sludge and sewage sludge ash

Phosphorus recovery is a key component of a sustainable circular economy and is becoming increasingly important due to legal requirements in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. As an experienced plant engineering company specializing in the implementation of innovative third-party technologies for phosphorus recovery from sewage sludge and sewage sludge ash, we deliver industrial solutions throughout the entire technology and plant lifecycle. Depending on the operating conditions, target product, and regulatory requirements, we design and build plants for all relevant phosphorus recovery methods, including:

  • Ash-based wet chemical processes involving acid digestion and subsequent processing into marketable phosphate products
  • Thermochemical processes for de-metallization and the production of low-pollutant phosphate carriers
  • Precipitation and crystallization processes (e.g., struvite) for phosphorus recovery directly from wastewater or digested sludge
  • Processing and direct use of phosphorus-containing ashes as a secondary raw material for the fertilizer industry

With our extensive expertise in process engineering, full service engineering across all disciplines, safety and authority management, and industrial plant construction, Pörner is a trusted partner for the evaluation, selection, planning, and construction of the optimal solution for phosphorus recovery.
